Our priority is to provide access to quality education and healthcare for women and children. We believe education and healthcare are not privileges, but human rights.
Dialikatou Diallo, MPH is the founder of the Better Education Foundation. A first-generation Guinean- American who holds a Masters degree in Public Health with concentration in Health Policy and Management. Dialikatou Graduated with a BS in Psychology from the City University of New York, College of Staten, in 2017. After completing her MPH in 2022, Dialikatou plans to attend medical school and pursue a specialty in Women’s Health. Dialikatou’s inspiration for starting this non-profit happened after she came back from studying abroad in Morocco in 2017.
While in Morocco, Dialikatou met many different women who shared their stories about wishing to have access to proper healthcare resources and education. This was very personal for Dialikatou, as she was born in Guinea- Conakry and knew first hand what it was like to want a better life but had no means to do so. Guinea’s literacy rate is one of the lowest in the world; girls are kept out of school to assist their parents with domestic work or agriculture or to be married. Arranged marriages are prevalent in Guinea amongst young girls. Dialikatou arrived in the United States in November 2006 for a better life and better educational opportunity. With BEF, she hopes to provide those same opportunities to women and children across the globe.
